Seeing one thing, and remembering another

Hello Little Frog,

This is a video that made me smile from the first moment I heard the music and saw the puppet and his puppeteer.

Your Dad plays the guitar, and your Mom plays the ipu and maybe other instruments, too. I don't really know, but you'll find out.

This video reminds me so much of a friend your Dad and your Tutu Lady knew a long time ago, when your Dad was a boy. His name was Raymond North. Maybe sometime your Dad will have a story to share about Raymond North who had a gravelly voice like the man playing the guitar in this video.

Raymond North was a Welshman, these men are Irishmen. Wales is near Ireland. Listen closely to the song at the end of the video. It's Irish. Your Tutu Pete is an Irishman.

It's fun to see how one thing you see can make you think of another thing, or another person.

Life is magic that way, if you look for it or listen just so.

Ma'uka and Tutu Cedar

Hello Little Frog, The Seasons are changing. Seasons is a very fun word to get to know. Over here, where your Two Tutus are living, Seasons mean the plants, the wind, the rain, the temperature (the air around you) changes a lot. Over there, where your Mom and Dad and you live, the changes are different in the way they change. You'll get to know them. You will kilo (notice, and pay attention). Your Two Tutus live at Camp Bamboo, ma'uka upland. The Tall Trees grow all around us. Here are some little videos of one of my favorite trails, and favorite trees. The trees are called Cedar, and they have a very sparkly smell. The skin of the Cedar is what makes them smell so sparkly.  The kama'aina, the long-time human people of this place, the Coast Salish People, love Cedar very very much. They call her Tutu. Tutu = Grandmother because Cedar gives them so many many things they need to have a good life. It's fun to share Tutu Cedar with you and your Mom and Dad. Cedar shares so...

The Monarch Butterfly Song

Good morning Little Frog, One of your Two Tutus is still asleep wrapped up in his sea of blankets. That's Tutu Pete. He loves lots and lots of blankets. One of your Two Tutus is awake and wrapped up in her cozy red robe. That's me. I love my cozy red robe. You, Little Frog, are wrapped up in the precious warm ocean carried by your Mom.  The other day your Dad sent the picture you see up there. 🠉🠉🠉🠉 Wow, that's a wonderful thing your people -- your Mom and Dad -- built to keep the caterpillars from being eaten up by the hungry birds. Everybody has to eat, but sometimes smaller people need a little help. That's what's happening in that big, white, tunnel made from cloth or netting that lets in lots of air and light. Good thinking!! Someday when you leave your private ocean and are out in the world with eyes open, breathing the air of Kane'ohe you can see those caterpillars and Monarch Butterflies for yourself. Here's a man playing a guitar, teaching peo...
